The subject of this photo appears to be no more than 18 years old. He is shown from the waist-up staring directly into the lens of the camera. He wears what looks to be a medium gray double-breasted shell jacket with a matching vest beneath. Under the vest is a white collard shirt with dark bowtie. At his waist is a narrow leather belt with a horizontal “U” shaped buckle. The photographer has gilded the buttons and his buckle. The subject’s cheeks are also lightly tinted.
Just visible behind the subjects left arm are what look like masts of a sailing ship from a painted backdrop.
Contrast and clarity are excellent.
Image comes with the decorative mat and stamped brass frame in a repaired leather case. [ad] [ph:L]
