Sixth-plate daguerreotype of a young man in a dark suit with high white collar holding an infant in his lap. The child wears a light dress and a white bonnet.
Image is very clear and despite a few minor scratches it is very nice with excellent contrast.
Photo has a floral brass mat and scroll frame. Mat has a few spots from age.
Union case has a raised geometric decoration on the exterior. The case is in very nice shape with only one small chip to one corner and no cracks. Brass hinges are good. [ad] [ph:L]
