This is a three-quarter view of a boy sitting on a chair with his arm around a dog who is sitting on a chair next to him. Boy is wearing a dark colored frock coat, vest and trousers with a white shirt and cravat.

Image is clear with fair contrast. Some light oxidation has occurred.

Image comes housed in full pressed paper case, which is in good condition.  Case is lined in faded red colored velvet which has an embossed design. Decorative brass mat surrounds the image.

This daguerreotype was part of a unique collection of images that featured animals.     [sm] [ph:L]
