Waist-up view of a bearded, gaunt faced Confederate seated sideways in a chair and posed with one arm resting on the chair back. He wears a light-colored double-breasted coat with no collar insignia and no visible galloons on the sleeves.
Clarity and contrast are good but there is some shadowing around the edges of the image.
Photo has the usual oval brass mat with scroll and floral decoration and the decorative stamped brass frame. All are housed in a complete leather case with a repaired hinge. [ad] [ph:L]
