The subject of this image is ten Union soldiers wearing dark forage caps and light-colored overcoats standing in front of their camp. None of the soldiers wear any accoutrements. Several wear their overcoats open revealing a mix of frockcoats and sack coats being worn underneath. In the background is a good sized camp of “wedge” tents. At least three Company streets can be seen in the background along with other soldiers milling around in the background and within the camp.
Clarity of the image is excellent and the contrast is good. There is some crazing on the surface of the image but it is contained to the sky area above the subjects and tents.
Image comes in a plain brass mat with decorative stamped frame in a full leather case in nice condition. [ad] [ph:L]
