This is a 1/6 plate hard case. Image has the usual brass mat, glass, and brass frame wrap. Embossed velvet lining on opposite side. The two women are well dressed and sitting at a table playing chess. Tintype itself show some light “wrinkles”.

The thermoplastic case is in good condition. Two brass hinges and one catch. Matching halves of hard case feature a raised floral and geometric pattern around the edges, a central oval, and a bust profile of bearded man within.

A nice Union case with an unusual subject.  [jet] [ph:L]
