This extraordinary pair of CDV’s come to us in excellent condition and feature many desirable characteristics.
Each CDV is a “gem” style portrait, surrounded by nice, period framed cards. President Lincoln is surrounded by a liberty cap, U.S. flags, and martial arms. Mrs. Lincoln is surrounded by a Tea Rose. Culturally significant, tea rose flowers are used in traditional medicine to treat various ailments and as an essential oil, used to reduce stress and induce relaxation. The reverse of each card features a small piece of paper, glued to the back to hold the picture in place. Each measures 4” by just under 2.5”. All colors are prominent and unfaded.
A prime opportunity for photography enthusiasts, Lincoln enthusiasts, or Civil War collectors. [CM][ph:L]
