This is a relic Model 1861 musket complete except for the wood stock. All metal surfaces have been cleaned of rust and have a bright but heavily pitted appearance.

All parts of the musket are present, barrel, buttplate, lock with interior parts, all three barrel bands, nose cap, ramrod, one sling swivel and triggerguard.

Attached to the barrel is an Enfield bayonet which matches the rest of the weapon in color and appearance.

All the pieces have been mounted to a weathered board for display. The board meas. 67.00 inches long x 7.50 inches wide x 1.00 inch thick. Triggerguard has been mounted backwards but can easily be reversed. Attached to the board is a modern sign that reads “HARRISON LANDING, VIRGINIA.”

The Union army had a huge camp at the Landing in 1862.  [ad]
