This is an excavated 3” Schenkl case shot shell. Iron body shows moderate pitting, but has been cleaned and remains stable with no flaking. There is a small chip out of the base. The fuse and case shot balls are gone leaving just the iron artillery shell body. Mounted on a wood base.
