Excavated “clipped corner” belt plate. Nice brown-green mixed patina. Retains good shape as most sheet brass plates were susceptible to bends and folds. This specimen exhibits only the slightest bends and one small crack (3/4”) on bottom edge. The initials “J M T” in large block letters are finely scratched on the face. Back of plate shows three solder marks from original belt hooks. A minor scuff or “diggers kiss” is also on the back. A very nice example of this fragile style of belt plate. [jet] [ph:L]
