State seal (two horses, crest, eagle on top) over a lined field. Three-piece button. Straight shank. “Horstmann Brothers & Co. Phil”. Coat size.

Very good condition. Face has no dents or cracks. Retains 85% gilt on face. All else shows nice chocolate brown patina.

Recovered near Fredericksburg, VA.  [jet] [ph:L]
