Collectors call this a “British Sea Service” bullet because of its reference in a very early bullet reference book. However, there is no research to support this. It is a Confederate-made bullet with some association to Louisiana troops.

This bullet is nose cast and features a round nose, two flat grooves, a thick skirt, and a conical cavity. Measure approximately 0.683” x 1.035”.

Very good condition with white patina with traces of dirt. Recovered near Orange, Virginia.  [jet] [ph:L]
