This is an excavated iron horse bit. Non-regulation pattern that was typical of Confederate use. It measures 5.5” wide x 7.5” long. Straight cheek piece with 1.5” diameter rein rings.
Iron is rusty as is typical with dug relics, but remains solid with no flaking.
