For the Enfield P-1853 rifle, but also used in the .58 caliber Springfield rifle musket. Enfield bullets made in England were machine pressed. English-made Enfield bullets used a boxwood plug to expand the bullet.

This specimen is a .577 caliber Enfield, pulled [with screw hole in nose], machine pressed, plain plug cavity with boxwood plug in place. Very nice patina.  [jet] [ph:jet]
