Belt plate was found on the Confederate line at the site of the Battle of Atlanta, Georgia, which took place in 1864.  Plate is in very good relic condition, just slightly warped. Plate is made of sheet brass. Surface of plate is crackled. “CS” is clearly showing in raised leters. Shows a rivet on left side, indicating a repair to the hook. Hook is present on right side. This egg shape style was widely used in the Confederacy. It is known for its weak stamping and thin border.

Plate is displayed in a nice gold frame with label that describes the provenance of the item. Frame measures 7 ¼” by 8 ¼”.  [sl]
