Here is an example of the rarest size of the Confederate Raleigh pattern bullet.  With typical raised bands and pointy nose, but in .58 caliber. Manufactured at the North Carolina Institute for the Deaf, the Dumb, and the Blind in Raleigh and only used by North Carolina troops.

Previously known to collectors as a “Carcano” bullet.

Nice “dug” specimen with white patina overall and only two small dings.

Recovered from the Fredericksburg area.   [jet] [ph:jet]
