.58 caliber, Union Repeating Gun bullet, second pattern with two flat grooves and a plunger. Smooth tan/brown patina. Looks like a fat Williams type III bullet. Plunger held a zinc washer.
Made by Williams for use in the Union repeating gun (aka Coffee Mill gun, Agar). Cartridges were loaded into re-useable iron chambers. The chamber features a percussion cap nipple on the end.
Another very rare bullet. [jet] [ph:jet]
