Here are two dropped, 12mm pinfire cartridges recovered near Clifton, TN, a city located up the Tennessee River from Shiloh. Both cartridges have been coated to preserve. Both have weak “G” head stamps. Manufactured by S.A. Gevelot, SFM (Societe Francaise des Munitions) in Paris.
Acquired from Ron Shealer collection in Gettysburg; who purchased these from Dr. Gerald R. Hovater of Henderson, TN. [jet] [ph:L]
