This is another scarce Trans-Mississippi bullet. Named a “Sterling Price” bullet by Meigs Brainard when he recovered them from a camp associated with General Price prior to his Missouri raid of 1864.
This bullet is .50 caliber with a truncated cone cavity. This is a small bullet with two shallow grooves. It was nose cast and so has a flat tip on the nose. Mold seam visible on one side. This specimen remains in near perfect condition with a bright white patina overall. Measures 0.492” x 0.82”.
This is a rare opportunity to acquire this scarce bullet. [jet] [ph:jet]
