Bayonet is complete with a full-length triangular blade, socket and frozen locking ring. All are encrusted with a thin layer of rust. No markings are visible.
The Cadet musket was authorized in 1851, with the initial 300 having been delivered to VMI. 4,400 were made between 1852-1853 and were produced at Springfield.
