Relic D-guard bowie knife that looks to be complete but for the grip and scabbard.
The double-edged blade meas. approx. 14.75 inches long and is approx. 2.00 inches wide at the ricasso. The point is in good shape as are the blade edges. Despite being rusted there is no missing material.
The tang still retains its “D” shaped guard made of heavy flat iron with a rounded quillon. Guard is still tightly attached. Tang still retains an iron finial.
The item is rusted but solid throughout and in its day, it was no doubt an imposing weapon. [ad] [ph:L]
