Standard regulation M1851 NCO sword belt plate measuring 50mm by 83mm with applied wreath and integral tongue. The wreath is still intact; the applied three pieces are clearly visible.
Back of belt plate shows an integral tongue with no bench number present.
This belt plate shows the bronze finish of the metal with dirt stuck in the recessed areas. Plate shows nice red-brown patina with some minor surface dirt.
Overall, a nice example of a plate with a three-piece applied wreath which still shows dirt from the recovery location of Orange, Virginia. [cla] [ph:L]
