Item Code: 236-216

Tin sardine can that was opened on one side and then a perfect circle was cut in the other side. Perhaps once the tasty treats were eaten, this was used as a small field stove to heat a cup of coffee.

Tin is in fine, “relic” condition. Recovered in a Union campsite on the north side of the Rappahannock River near Banks' Ford.  Excavated by Dean Thomas.  [jet] [PH:L]
