This is a small iron mass containing an Enfield bullet and a canister ball. Canister is approximately 1.15” in diameter and was for the 12-pounder Napoleon cannon. Stones and what appears to be a small portion of melted lead.

Recovered from a ship wreck off Myrtle Beach. The ship is believed to be either the Suwanee or the Governor.

The iron mass that holds these together is from portions of the iron cargo that dissolved in the salt water and combined with the sand to form this “concrete”.    [jet] [ph:L]
