Bayonet has full length blade and socket with mortise. Locking ring is frozen.

No markings are visible.

Surfaces are covered in a heavy rust with remains of black paint. It appears that once the digger removed the heavy rust and dirt, he painted the surface black.

Item was recovered at Fredericksburg, VA.  [ad] [ph:L]
