This is the Cavalry crossed sabers insignia made of stamped brass in very good relic condition.
The insignia was meant to be worn on the crown of the forage cap, kepi, or slouch hat. This is unbroken with a slight bend and a light brown dusty patina. The attachment loops are gone but solder marks are visible.
Recovered at Manassas. [jet] [ph:L]
