This attic condition Model 1860 cavalry saber is complete but for the grip and the scabbard.
The blade is unmarked but is full length. The surface is heavily mottled with moderate scattered pitting.
The guard, tang and pommel cap have been painted gold. Much of the gold paint has worn off the pommel and some of the guard. The tang still retains its gold paint and in white lettering on one side is “POST No. 12” while the opposite side is marked “BRANDY STN.”
The pommel cap and guard are loose due to the wood grip being gone.
As stated above, there is no scabbard. [ad][ph:L]
