Original Confederate “C.S. Tongue” half of an officer’s “Tongue & Wreath” belt buckle.
A nice dug relic from an unknown location. The piece still retains a nice dark patina overall, but was slightly over cleaned as some point resulting is some bright edges here and there. This cast brass piece remains solid with only a slight bend on the arm between the belt loop and the central disk.
A fine Confederate officer’s belt buckle (half) in decent condition for a dug example. And if you have to only have half, this is the half to have with the “CS”. [jet] [ph:L]
