U.S. CAVALRY HORSE BIT BOSS FROM ANTIETAM

$39.50 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 2024-1075

A very nice excavated “US” bit boss. Two of these brass items adorned the cavalry curb bit. There would have been one on each side near the cheek area of the horse's head. This example has the “stippled” background without a period between the "U" and the "S." The extended tabs top and bottom remain with the top being slightly bent. It has a pleasing green patina and was excavated at Antietam, MD.

Measures: 2" x 1.25”.  [jet][ph:L]
