A nice, excavated Confederate belt plate of the thin or slim Tennessee pattern rectangular CSA belt plate, characterized by a relatively thin raised border and rather fat periods after the letters. This has no bends, cracks or breaks, and all three hooks are in place on the reverse though the very tip of the fastening hook is missing. Both sides show as a thin, light gray-green with some bronze tones on the hooks, and some lighter browns and grays on the face.
This is a very good example of a classic Confederate belt plate. [sr][PH:L]
