This is the skin only of a State of New York belt plate emblazoned with the initials “SNY.”
The plate has a nice dark face with some lighter discoloration from ground action. The edge of the plate after the letter “Y” is missing.
Reverse has the two “puppy-paw” style posts but the tongue has broken off.
Very neatly written on the front of the plate above the “SNY” is “HARRISON’S LANDING” while below it is “1862-1961 FOUND AT CAMPSITE.”
Reverse is marked with the collector’s or digger’s code. [ad] [ph:L]
