Blacksmith forged iron bit typically used by Southern cavalry of the Civil War period. Side “cheek” pieces are made of ¼” thick iron stock and are nearly straight. Complete with mouth piece and integral rings, never had a bottom cross bar. Shaped like as “H”.

This is an excavated piece that has been lightly cleaned and coated. Solid and sturdy.
