Offered here is an excavated single cavity bullet mold. Brass mold halves, hinged at the end, with iron sprue cutter mounted on top. Single cavity casts a two-groove bullet with slight rebate at the base.
Cavity measures approximately 0.42” diameter x 0.63” tall. Bullet profile fits the general style of several English revolvers along with the .44 caliber Ballard rifle.
Brass has a perfect dark green patina while the cutter is rusty but remains complete. Mold still opens and closes.
A scarce bullet mold from the collection of author/publisher Dean Thomas. [jet] [ph:L]
