Recovered at Fort Dearborn, MS.  Made of pewter, measuring .75” in diameter. Face stamped “United States / 2”. Clear, legible lettering & number. Light corrosion, but clean. Missing reverse shank.

Originally accompanied by note, now missing:  “1798-1808/ 2nd Regiment, U.S. Infantry. Found at Fort Dearborn, Mississippi., used by 1798-1809, by :  John G. Bowen.” Solid early U.S. button. Definitely collectible.  Originally sold as R20325.  [ld] [ph:L]
