Parrott time fuse adapters were manufactured of zinc, have twelve threads to the inch, two spanner holes, and a larger central hole running through to insert the paper time fuse. This style adapter was used in all Parrott projectiles from the 3” field gun to the largest naval projectiles.
This adapter measures 1.6” high. Recovered by Jim Thomas in the late 1970s on the west side of the battlefield in the area of Jackson’s Confederate assault. [jet][ph:L]
