“Dug” US cartridge box plate for the outer flap of the infantry cartridge pouch. Large “US” in the center of the plate. The face remains smooth with a fine dark patina. There are some dings and dents, especially around edges but nothing bad.
Lead fill in the back is all there. This is an early pattern with brass wire loops! Very uncommon. No recovery location. [jet][ph:L]
