This “dug” Federal cartridge box plate is of the regulation 1839. Constructed in the die-struck and rolled brass method, the brass accoutrement’s face shows a clear “US” with nice smooth face and dark brown patina. Slight curve to plate. Retains 100% of lead fill; no maker’s mark. The two wire loops remain intact. Measures approximately 88mm x 56mm.

Reported to have been recovered around Corinth, MS. In very fine, “relic” condition, typical of relics recovered in the 1970s or earlier.  [jet][ph:L]
