This excavated relic is a sergeant’s combination musket tool for the Pattern 1853 Enfield. The tool is made up of several parts combined in the shape of a “T”.  The body of the tool measures about 4.5” long. A ball screws are still attached at each end. Located along the body is a cone pick on one side and a main spring clamp on the other. The cross arm has a screw driver blade on one end and has a wiper on the other.  Light rust and pitting overall, but very good condition for a relic.

Recovered along the Boydton Plank Road.   [jet] [ph:L]
