Offered here is a group of “dug” uniform decorations, recovered on private property near Fort Erie, Fort Niagara, and Fort George.
Included are a large regimental number “8”, an Infantry “hunting horn” insignia, a Tudor “Rose” insignia, A Royal Crown insignia, and Lion’s heads and chain cape fastener.
All pieces show some wear, some worse than others. Recovered long ago, these were mounted to a “relic board” and at some point removed, leaving some with snipped copper wire and a drop of solder on the back. The majority of these items also appear to have had their front painted gold. This is unfortunate, but these remain perfectly fine for display.
A fine selection of British and Canadian “War of 1812” relics. [jet][ph:L]
