This type of Parrott percussion fuze saw extensive use. The fuze body is made of zinc and was screwed into the nose of the projectile using a spanner wrench that fit into the two holes on the top of the fuze.  An anvil is screwed into the top and also had two spanner holes. The interior contained a slider with nipple and percussion cap.

This specimen is an excavated relic. The exterior of the fuze body is threaded he entire length. The only damage is a scrape on one side of the flange and anvil. Good patina. Unknown recovery location.  [jet][ph:L]
