Three lead musket balls and brass “flat” button from the December 9, 1775 battle of Great Falls (Chesapeake, Virginia).
From the collection of author/publisher Dean Thomas. Dean was a bullet collector since the 1960s, had published numerous books on Civil War small arms ammunition, and was working on a book about early “round shot” ammunition when he died in 2023. These items were part of his research for that project. [jet] [ph:L]
