This spontoon head comes to us in a relic condition, showing moderate surface rust and a fair amount of pitting.  Obviously hand-forged, this example features a cross guard to limit overpenetration.  A piece of the original pole is retained in the socket, hand cut long ago from its host.  Two mounting holes are noted (one of either side), but no pins are present.  Much of the blade is complete, with very minor chipping at the lower portions of either side.  The edge has dulled and the tip is rounded.  Style fits those of the Revolutionary War era

Dimensions are 5” x 14.5” overall, with a blade length of 8.25”.
