This complete ink bottle shows very little wear and retains its layer of colored glaze. The item is free of cracks and major damage, with a pouring lip at the opening of the top. A very subtle chip is noted below the pouring lip’s left side. Surface is smooth and clean, with only very minor marks in the clear finish. A very clear manufacturer stamp reads “VITREOUS STONE BOTTLES. / J. BOURNE & SON / PATENTEES / DENBY POTTERY. / NEAR DERBY. / P. & J. ARNOLD. / LONDON. / ENGLAND.” The bottle measures 10” in height and 3.40” in diameter.
A neat relic of the Fredericksburg, Virginia area. [cm][ph:L]
