This is an excellent example of an officer’s hat cord. Constructed of woven metallic thread with “acorns” on the ends. These were worn with just about any officer’s slouch hat, Union or Confederate. Gold in color for commissioned officers.
Whole piece has dark patina. Cord, acorns, and slide are all in excellent condition. [jet] [jet] [ph:L]
