This North Carolina reunion badge is undated but appears to be 20th century. It measures roughly four inches in length. The top portion is a molded foot which reads “1861-1865 / 115,000 / VOTERS / TAR / HEELS / 127,000 / SOLDIERS.” The heel of the food is painted black for “tar heels.” Attached is a southern cross of honor bearing the rebel flag.
The rolling safety clasp pin back is firmly attached, as is the drop to the heel. Both pieces are in good condition with no detracting marks. [cla] [ph:L]
