Very nice coin silver ID badge in the shape of a shield with cannon and anchor representing the 9th Army Corps. The face is features the cannon and anchor with red enamel filling the background; the red designating the 1st Division of the 9th Corps.  The face of the badge is smooth with light tarnish. The reverse has a T-bar pin and clasp.

The IX Corps was a part of the Union Army during the Civil War that distinguished itself in combat in multiple theaters: the Carolinas, Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Mississippi.
