This ribbon, which commemorates the 1903 regimental reunion, comes to us in a nice condition. The ribbon is made of white silk, with navy-blue printed text and motifs. A line of subtle pinholes is noted near the top. No overt fraying, staining, or damage are observed. Reverse is blank.
The 21st participated in many of the Eastern Theater’s major battles, missing Gettysburg for service in the Department of Virginia and rejoining the action during the overland campaign.
Overall, an attractive and uncommon unit-specific Civil War Veteran piece. [cm][ph:L]
