The 11th New Jersey is highly noted for its sacrifices at Gettysburg, where the unit brought 275 men into battle and saw over half of them killed or wounded, including multiple commanders who were killed or fell in quick succession.

This ribbon commemorates the ninth reunion of the regiment, held at Phillipsburg, New Jersey on June 16^th, 1891.  The ribbon body is blue silk with gilt-embossed text and decorative banner pattern at the bottom edge.  Some minor wear across the front face is noted and shown, while a partial horizontal separation is observed at upper center. The reverse is clean and unmarked.  Dimensions are 2.5” x 7”.
