Large brass badge made in two pieces. The top has a medallion at center with a view of the Michigan State Normal School. This is supported by a wide sweeping scroll with vine and floral decoration that reads “YPSILANTI.” Reverse has the original pin.

Suspended from this is a small bar that reads “DELEGATE.”

The large circular drop is suspended by five chin links on each side. At center is a portrait in left profile of Michigan’s wartime governor Austin Blair. Around the portrait is a spread-winged eagle with crossed US flags, a laurel wreath and the Michigan State seal. Around the edges is “G.A.R. SEMI-CENTENNIAL 1861-1911.” Reverse of the drop reads “33RD ENCAMPMENT DEP’T OF MICHIGAN G.A.R. YPSILANTI JUNE 21,22,23, 1911,”
