Bronze table medal meas. approx. 2.75 inches across.
The obverse has a view of Pike’s Peak with a tower at center and a passenger car being pushed by a steam engine on each side.
Reverse has raised lettering within an oakleaf wreath that reads “IN HONOR OF THE BRAVE MEN WHO VICTORIOUSLY DEFENDED THE UNION ON LAND AND SEA DURING THE WAR OF THE GREAT REBELLION 1861-1865.” Around the outer edge is “39TH NATIONAL ENCAMPMENT G.A.R. – DENVER SEPT. 1905.”
